Terms & Conditions
Booking Procedure
Online bookings can be completed in a few simple steps:

0.1 - Select the appropriate guided activity and check the calendar for the activity you wish to book. (Online booking closes 12hrs before the start time for staffing purposes)

0.2 - Full payment is required to book your place online. For most
activities there is a two-person minimum booking. If you are a solo traveller, please contact our office. -
0.3 - All under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult.

0.4 - Once you make your booking you will automatically be sent a
receipt for your payment and an email containing your Joining
Instructions. -
0.5 - If you can't find your preferred dates or adventure please email.

Booking Conditions

1.1 - Your safety is our priority, but all outdoor activities have an
element of risk through participation. Gairloch Kayak Centre will
NOT be held responsible for any injury caused whilst participating in our activities. -
1.2 - Individuals are advised to take out their own personal insurance
to cover any unplanned eventualities that may result from
participating in adventurous outdoor activities. There are many
companies offering specific trip or annual accident insurance
policies. -
1.3 - By booking on an activity you are confirming that you are
physically fit and able to participate in your chosen activity. All
participants are required to disclose any medical conditions and
physical ailments that could affect the paddling trip/activity they
have booked onto. All information will be treated confidentially. If you have any queries, please contact to discuss prior to booking. -
1.3 - All participants must agree to follow the instructions of Gairloch Kayak Centre guides to ensure their personal safety and that of other group members. Before your activity your instructor will ask you
to sign an activity consent/disclaimer form. -
1.5 - Gairloch Kayak Centre has the right to cancel any activity should there be adverse weather impacting on group including but not exclusive to excess wind strength/weather warnings/lightning storms.

1.6 - We do not consider Rain/snow/hail as bad Weather.

1.7 - No alcohol may be consumed before or during activity.

1.8 - GKC staff reserve the right to refuse activity participation to any persons suspected of intoxication by drugs or alcohol.

1.9 - GKC staff reserve the right to insist guests leave the site if they are abusive or disruptive to staff or other guests

1.10 - No smoking during activities or whilst wearing Gairloch kayak Centre Equipment.

1.11 - We do allow Stag & Hen dos must inform us at booking and confirm that you will not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol on arrival and during the activity/s booked.

1.12 - For our Loch Maree experience should the weather conditions be deemed unsuitable on the day, we have the right to suggest an alternative location.

1.13 - Gairloch Kayak Centre cannot be held responsible for any external costs in attending or additional costs incurred through the cancellation of any activity due to adverse weather or other circumstances. All clients are advised to take out their own personal insurance and/or travel insurance to cover eventualities of missed travel connections, breakdowns and cancellations.

1.14 - Parents and Guardians must also recognise a degree of risk to their children and accept responsibility for ensuring their behaviour throughout the activity. All under 18-year-olds must be accompanied by a participating adult.

1.15 - We run mixed group sessions of up to eight people of all ages and abilities. We endeavour to cater for the needs of everyone in the groups. If this is an issue our private sessions may be more suitable.

1.16 - Minimum age for kayaking activities is 11-years-old.

1.17 - Pets are not allowed on our adventures.

1.18 - To ensure everybody’s safety as far as possible, we reserve the right to postpone or cancel the activities on offer, as weather or group needs dictate.

1.19 - It may not be possible to change the date of your booking once it has been made. If we can reasonably change the date of your activity, we will do so.

1.20 - Food is not provided on half day or day trips and you must bring your own snacks/packed lunches. Any food offered is accepted at your own risk.

1.21 - For camping based trips a dietary request form will be sent to you before the trip.

1.22 - Gairloch Kayak Centre cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to any personal property.

1.23 - Gairloch Kayak Centre will hold all information (verbal or written) in confidence and according to current Date Protection law​.

1.24 - Gairloch Kayak Centre accepts no responsibility for damage to vehicles. Vehicles are parked at owner's risk.

1.25 - Gairloch Kayak Centre will not offer refunds for late arrival. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time for your activity we reserve the right to leave without you, as you may affect other customers and our staff's working hours / arrangements.

1.26 - Refunds are not available for local, regional & national disasters: including “act(s) of God” which include, but are not exclusive to: fire, flooding, lightning, earthquakes, storms/hurricanes, droughts, plagues, and other natural disasters that cannot be accounted for such as, but not exclusive to: acts of terrorism, war, worker strikes, civil unrest, food/fuel shortages, or other local, regional, or national emergency.
Cancellation Policy

2.1 - It is strongly advised that all clients consider taking out their own holiday/activity insurance policy. It is possible to take out insurance against last minute cancellation for reasons such as illness and so on, check travel insurance providers for that.

2.2 - If you cancel within 28 days of the booked activity, you will not receive a refund. The client is welcome to transfer their place to a friend or family member at no charge. We do, at our discretion, offer vouchers for future activities to people who have to cancel. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

2.3 - If we cancel due to weather, we will try and offer a mutually convenient alternative time for an experience. If there is no alternative available, you will receive a full refund in the form as a voucher for a future adventure or to your payment card.

Photo Policy

3.1 - At the same time as accepting our risk declaration you will also have to accept our photo use policy. You are accepting that we can use and share photos of you on social media and in our marketing by us or our partner business. You must inform us in advance if you don't agree with photos of you being used.
